The 2012 Conference in Chattanooga will be a great opportunity to learn what other students and professionals are doing to strengthen our communities.  The daily work of the family professionals that are members of SECFR fits perfectly with the theme “Looking Out for Families”.  Members from all participating states will have the opportunity to kick off the conference the night before with service to the Chattanooga community.

On Wednesday, February 29th from 1:00-4:00 we will join the Chattanooga Area Food Bank in their mission to feed local families.  The Chattanooga Area Food Bank feeds 20,000 people every week.  They serve individuals and families in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.  SECFR members will join employees in sorting donations and preparing food boxes.

So, come to the conference a little early.  This is a perfect chance to meet some other SECFR members while getting into the spirit of the conference.  Please email Margaret Machara (mmachara@tnstate.edu) if you have questions or are interested in participating, and be sure to check this option on our registration form.  Together we can Look Out for Chattanooga Families before learning about the work of other SECFR students and professionals.
